WEIGHT-GAIN SHAKE

Mar 19, 2009

At i-Supplements we work with many athletes from a variety of sports on nutrition and supplementation. Many of our athletes are young and participate in scholastic sports like football and baseball. Some common question we get from parents and student athletes are how to gain weight in the off-season and also how to keep our newly added muscle during the season. Before we develop a supplement program for young athletes, we first make sure that there is a significant increase in calories. The easiest way to jump start this program is to add in a custom weight-gain shake. A weight-gainer shake can help the young athlete with many things such as:

  • Muscular supportweight gainer
  • Increase in mass
  • Faster recovery
  • Healthy breakfast
  • Provides essential nutrients

Many of us are working on dropping the pounds while these kids get to enjoy a calorie rich diet that includes large amounts of protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats. Below I’m going to list two samples weight-gain shakes that have been used with great success.

Chocolate-Peanut Butter Mass

1 cup of milk

2 scoops of your favorite weight-gainer

2 tbsps natural peanut butter

4 ice cubes

Big Banana

1 cup of milk

2 scoops of weigh-gainer

2 bananas

2 tbsps of natural peanut butter

The best time to consume a weight-gain power shakes is for breakfast and right after practice or training. My two favorite weight gainers are True Mass by BSN and N Large 2 by Prolab.
