The key to staying healthy is by strengthening your immune system to fight off bugs that you come in contact with. Germs are everywhere! You cannot dodge them forever, so in the mean time put the following tips into use and help prevent and lower the odds of illness!

3. Laugh a little. A good laugh increases the amount of germ fighting cells throughout your body. Laughter helps lower cortisol levels and releases endorphins, which are feel good chemicals that trigger immune cells.

1. Drink green tea. Its antioxidants help heal infections.

2. Eat dark chocolate. The antioxidants in cocoa keep immune cells working properly.

3. Eat shiitake mushrooms. Lentinan, a carbohydrate found in these shrooms helps boost immune system cells response to infection.

4. Eat greens. They are loaded with zinc, which helps white blood cells function properly.

5. Eat garlic. Using garlic regularly can help prevent and even reduce the severity of common infections.

6. Eat apples. Their antioxidants help prevent colds.
