Quit Procrastinating Already!
Mar 2, 2010
It is normal for all of us to add item after item or task after task to our “to-do” lists, that we always manage to continually put off. One of the most typical “to-do’s” that is often easily set aside is working out, doing cardio or dieting. Somehow we see that these tasks are easily set aside when we are “too tired, too busy”, or just telling ourselves that we will do it later…But when putting those tasks or other reminders off causes you stress and guilt, then it is time for you to come up with some solutions. This is where we come in to help. Stay on task with the following advice and you will decrease how often you tend to procrastinate in everyday life.
Excuse #1- ” I just don’t know where to begin.” Who ever said you had to start a project with the typical first step anyway? Jump into it if you have to and make at least some sort of progress. By then you will have a clearer idea of what else needs to get done.
Excuse #2 – “I still have plenty of time.” A warning bell should immediately go off now inside of your head when you say this to yourself or others. Be realistic by thinking back to when you did a similar task then carving out a comparable amount of time.
Excuse #3 – “I just don’t feel like doing it.” You will never magically want to do anything that you really don’t want to do in the first place. Psych yourself up by coming up with a good reason why it is a good idea to get up and moving and what the benefits will be when you are done!
