Low Carbs, Less Hunger?

Low Carbs, Less Hunger?

We all know that dieting sucks! There is no denying just how hard it is for some of us! What most people do not know is that finding the right diet to suit your needs is crucial to keeping you satisfied and not starving all day long!

One problem most dieters face is hunger. A frequently touted feature of a low carb diet is that those who follow them experience less hunger, making compliance easier than other diets that leave your stomach rumbling 24/7! To prove that low carbs means less hunger, scientists compared the effects of a low carb diet to a high carb/low fat diet. The subjects tested were divided into two separate groups for a six week time period, with one group on the low carb route and the other on a high carb/low fat plan. Those individuals in the low carb group began with a daily intake of only 20 grams of carbs, increasing carbs five grams each week.

The low carb group experienced 15% weight loss after the six weeks compared to only 5% in the high carb/low fat group. More important, those in the low carb group had far less hunger pangs than those in the other group. So the conclusion is that current popularity and scientific results show that lower carb diets work and help you lose more fat and do it with less hunger!
