Kimbo the next TUF champ?
Sep 30, 2009
This season of The Ultimate Fighter has been advertised as the shows biggest season ever. While setting a ratings record with the first show, episode 3 looks to be the biggest episode ever in the history of the show. Last week it was announced that Internet fighting sensation Kimbo Slice would be fighting former IFL champ Roy Nelson on episode 3. Since that announcement, Spike TV has been running commercial after commercial to build this fight up.
Who will win? Well if I was in Vegas I would put all my money on Nelson. Roy Nelson has fought some big name guys and has had great success. With a record of 13-4 and two of his four losses are to Jeff Monson and Andrei Arlovski. Despite sporting a soft physique, Roy is a very well conditioned fighter and also has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. On the other hand Kimbo probably has better hands but the edge in wrestling and jiu-jitsu goes to Roy. This is Kimbo’s big shot so you can bet that he is going to bring it. No matter what happens in this fight, I believe that Kimbo will get a contract in the UFC. The bottom line is that people like to watch Kimbo and if he weren’t on this show the ratings would suffer. For this fight I’m going to go with Roy by decision.
