FEDOR DOES IT AGAIN
This past weekend millions of viewers tuned in on CBS to watch the sports pound for pound king throwdown. Once again Fedor fought a larger man and showed that technique and true martial arts knowledge will always defeat size and strength. Bret Rogers did look good in his first ever-pro loss. The heavyweight division is something else. With such a large difference in weight, being tall and big can make up for a lot of technique that is necessary in the lower weight classes. Rogers is a tough SOB and I would like to see him fight Werdum or Bigfoot.
Is Fedor the best fighter on the planet? It’s hard to say right now. Fedor can fight all of the top fighters outside the UFC and win, but until he steps in the octagon its hard to say he is the pound for pound king. As a fighter and fan I hope we can see a Fedor and Lesnar fight before Fedor retires. Hopefully this fight gave fans a chance to see just how great Fedor truly is. Just when you think he is slowly down, he just kicks it into overdrive and the fight is over.
The Strikeforce card was excellent. All of the fights were awesome but I think they have a long way to go before they can compete with the UFC. I did enjoy the fighter entrances. I hope that Strikeforce continues to grow so we can have a little competition between brands. Pro wrestling was at its best not only financial but entertainment when WCW and WWE were having ratings wars. Not only do fans benefit from this but also it allows fighters to compete in other shows where they can make good money.
