Miguel Torres loses at WEC 47
Mar 10, 2010
Miguel Torres dropped his second fight in a row at WEC 47 in Columbus Ohio to Urijah Faber protege Joseph Benavidez when he got Guillotine Choked after receiving a horrible cut on his forehead . Torres lost the 135lb belt to Brian Bowles at WEC 42 and he was looking for a victory against Benevidez to get back to the title. The winner of Torres and Benevidez is to be considered the number one contender so Benevidez will get a shot a Dominick Cruz since he beat Brain Bowles at WEC 47.
There have been many questions about Miguel Torres since he has dropped his second fight in a row. Before this 2 fight losing streak Torres had won 17 in a row and only lost 1 fight in his first 38. Torres was considered by many to be the number one pound for pound fighter in the world ahead of Anderson Silva and Fedor Emelianenko. Only time will tell what happens to the legend of Miguel Torres and I hope he comes out of this 2 fight slump since he is one of my favorite fighters to watch.
