5 Easy things to help prevent cancer!

Feb 27, 2008

Fight CancerAs I was watching the news this morning there was a great five minute interview with a Doctor talking about 5 easy things to do daily to help prevent cancer. Here is a quick overview.

1.) Workout: By working out, you drop your chance of getting cancer by 30%. Whether you are training at a gym or walking your dog for 20-30 minutes a day. You need some type of exercise. It is also good to work up a sweat. Sweating will help you remove toxins from your body that could later do harm and make you sick. Sweating is good!

2.) Weight Management: Control your weight. By doing step 1 you are already on the right track. Talk to your Doctor about what your target weight should be and work hard to achieve that weight and maintain it! Besides looking better and being healthier, you are going to feel alot better about yourself.

3.) Nutrition: This works right into step 2. Clean up your eating habits. Quit eating foods high in saturated fats, high fructose and simple carbohydrates. Implement a nutrition program that is high in good proteins, fibrous carbohydrates and low fat. Make sure you eat a nutritious breakfast…EVERY DAY! Quit eating fried foods!!!

4.) Eat Fruit: Eat lots of fruits that are high in antioxidants. Antioxidants seek out free radicals and neutralize them before they can exert their harmful effects on the body. Here is a few fruits that have great antioxidant properties.

5.) Eat Nuts: Eating nuts high in selenium is a great preventative measure against prostate cancer. Brazil nuts are the highest in selenium and are the perfect choice. Alot of men supplement with selenium for preventative measures against prostate cancer.

I am not saying by doing these things they are going to completely wipe out the risk of cancer, but if they can be somewhat of a preventative measure against the horrible disease, then why not give these five things a shot?
