Josh was one of 16 fighters from across the United States to compete on The Ultimate Fighter Season 1, which airs on Spike TV still today. As a Mixed Martial Arts Veteran, Josh has had over 25 fights since 1998 and continues his career into 2009. Josh is also a coach and mentor to many amateur and professional fighters in his hometown of Cincinnati, OH.

Dana White has just dropped a bombshell on the MMA universe!  Kimbo Slice has just been added to the new season of The Ultimate Fighter named “Heavyweights”.  For those of you who having been living under a rock for the past couple of years, Kevin Ferguson is the Internet fighting sensation better known as Kimbo Slice.  Kimbo was made famous from his backyard brawls that were broadcasted on youtube.  Due to his extreme popularity, the now bankrupt Elite XC signed Kimbo.  With a handful of highly promoted fights, Kimbo became a MMA superstar overnight.

With all of the hype and the mainstream coverage of Kimbo Slice, many fighters and hardcore mma fans questioned Kimbo’s skills and fighting ability.  One of Kimbo’s biggest opponents was Dana White President of the UFC.  Dana has been on record saying that Kimbo is just a street fighter with no athletic skill and that he has 145lbs fighters that could beat him.  With all of that being said, I think this is the best move for Kimbo and the UFC.  It’s a win win situation for the UFC because if Kimbo gets beat on TUF then Dana was right all along.  If Kimbo does well, which I think he will, then they just rebuilt a rising star in the world of mixed martial arts.  People can say all they want about Dana but he makes the right moves at the right times.  Having a star of the likes of Kimbo on TUF could give it the shot in the arm that the show needs to boost interest again.  Will Kimbo be the next Ultimate Fighter?  I don’t care I just want to hear the conversations between Rampage and Kimbo.
